So You Don't Like the Blame Game, Mr. President?

Could that possibly be because you don't like where the finger is being pointed? You and your people would be the first to assign blame if you weren't so guilty.

Just now NPR quoted the per diem dollars the feds are spending in the Gulf region...TWO BILLION. Yep, two billion per day. Makes those monies the Army Corps of Engineers had been asking for seem mighty small.

"Gone with the Water," by Joel K. Bourne, Jr., National Geographic, October, 2004.

This is well worth a read.

This whole mess hurts my stomach, it really does. Being a resident of the Gulf coast region, I'm really worried about the water that they're pumping out of the city -- the water that is basically raw sewage -- and into the Gulf of Mexico. That alone is going to have far-reaching, costly effects. And no one seems to care!

Also, re: your 9/6 ("Get Bush friggin' out of office already!) post -- imagine living in Florida. Not only do we have Bush as our president, but also as our governor. Jeb is scarier because he's actually intelligent -- slightly evil and intelligent.

The environmental impact will be felt, no doubt, for decades.

Rabid Republicans are the 1st to point fingers and it's laughable when they say "now let's not politicize this". Clinton was impeached over a sex scandal, no lives were lost and Monica Lewinsky was a consenting adult, yet Bushs' lack of leadership has cost the lives of Thousands! Even 9/11 was partially his fault because there had been reports about the growing threat from Al Queda and he did nothing. It hurts my heart to know this man has 3 more years to go and gets to appoint 2 Supreme Court justices who will influence our lives the next 30yrs. This is such a tragedy.
